Zenas Pilcher (“Z”), founder of Alamo City
Poker Club, is a man of strong values, positive influence and a unique
magical spirit. Zenas' background has shaped the values for which he
stands. He is originally from Ft. Lauderdale, FL, but lived most of his
life outside Uvalde,Texas. His mother worked for Dolph Briscoe and his
Father was an Air Force pilot and bank president. He was raised in a
small rural county of Texas and learned the value of strong morals, hard
work and education.
When Zenas completed school he transplanted from the
country and settled in San Antonio, where he obtained his Texas Gaming
License. After working at Retama Park and becoming a father, he moved
to Las Vegas where he obtained his T.A.M. Card and LVMPD Gaming License.
He began his professional career at the Long Horn Casino, and worked
his way up to the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino, while still maintaining
night classes for a degree in Psychology and Business Administration.
Recently, Zenas returned to San Antonio to handle family estate matters.
Z is now creating a business plan for a new bar and card room to be
located in San Antonio. His ultimate goal is to open it as soon as the
laws about card rooms change in the State of Texas. Zenas currently
operates Alamo City Poker Club as a hobby to share his love for the game
of poker -- the art and skill of strategy, observation, math, and the
“strength of the dare”.
